The Norway Experience

This is the ultimate Northern Lights adventure! You will have the unique chance to observe the Aurora, both from a hot jacuzzi on the roof and as we venture into the woods at night. Together with a carefully selected group of cool travellers, I will take you to the remote Northern areas of Norway for a week full of winter adventures. I curated this experience for those who want to travel comfortably and enjoy a winter holiday to remember for life.

Itinerary

Duration: 7 days

Dates: 4-10 February 2023

Group size: Min 5, max 10 people

Comfort: Luxurious

Pace: Slow, disconnect

Wifi: Fast and stable

Food: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included on most days, with a private chef

Age restriction: Adults only

Day 1:

Fly to Tromso with Norwegian Airlines or SAS. Flights are excluded from the price but I will help you with advice on how to find the best options. I will personally meet and greet you at the airport and take you to the hotel. You will have a welcome drink and dinner where you will meet the rest of the group. We will check into the hotel and spend the night in the charming town of Tromso which is quite modern and easy to navigate.

Day 2:

We’ll have breakfast in Tromso and explore the town before we leave for Storslett, a village 3.5 hours away. It’s a beautiful drive through the fjords and we’ll be in a private van. We will have lunch packs for the ride. You’ll have some free time before dinner to rest or relax in the jacuzzi on the roof. At night, we put on snowshoes and warm winter clothes provided by the lodge to go into the wild. We will see the Northern Lights and take pictures. I will be your photographer for the night.

*Note: Seeing the Aurora depends on the weather conditions so we might change the day for this activity if the conditions on another night are more favourable.

Day 3:

The private chef at the lodge will prepare breakfast for us as this will be a long day full of adventures. We will go on snowmobiles, following the tracks on the frozen river nearby the lodge, heading into the mountains and the great white plains. Our destination is a mountain fishing lake. Here we will set camp, light a bonfire and make hot beverages. Snacks and a typical Norwegian mountain lunch will be served. Next, we will try ice fishing. All fish will be released back into the lake. We will have dinner back at the lodge and observe the Northern Lights from the hot jacuzzi on the roof.

If you want to drink alcohol, you can buy it from the bar at the lodge, as this is excluded from the trip price. You can also take your drink into the jacuzzi, in a plastic cup.

Day 4:

Today we’ll go on a three-hour dog sledding adventure! After breakfast, our guide will take us and you will be driving your own dog sled with another person from the group. We will stop at our wilderness camp where we will have hot lunch and beverages. In the evening, we’ll have dinner at the lodge and wait in the jacuzzi for the Northern Lights to appear.

Day 5:

Even if you are not a fan of winter, you will enjoy the stunning winter wonderland we’re in. On this day, we will go on a photo safari and take pictures under the soft arctic light. I will be your personal photographer for the day! Here, you can enjoy the view of the frozen river and the valley that stretches beyond, from the viewpoint of Ovi Raishin. At Ovi Raishin, we will make a bonfire inside the shelter, and enjoy hot beverages and snacks. You will have breakfast and dinner at the lodge. At night, you are free to hop into the jacuzzi or play board games with the group.

Day 6:

This is our last morning at the lodge where will have breakfast before we leave for Tromso. Lunch is excluded on this day as we will arrive at noon and you will have the afternoon free to explore the town or enjoy the spa at the hotel. This is also an opportunity to bond with the group and make friendships for life before we say “see you later.”

Day 7:

This is our last morning together. We will have breakfast together and then you will be transferred to the airport and fly home.

Excluded:

  • Flights to and from Tromso, Norway are not included but I will assist you with advice
  • PCR test (if a vaccine or recovery certificate isn’t enough to enter the country)
  • Travel insurance
  • Alcoholic beverages
